EMI Music Malaysia ("EMI") respects the privacy concerns of users of the EMI websites (which include the websites of, among others, EMI Music Malaysia and shall, individually and collectively, be referred to as the "Site"(s)). As a general rule, no personal information is automatically collected from users of the Sites. Personally identifiable data about users of the Site are known to EMI only when voluntarily submitted by users of the Sites. However, certain non-personal information of users (for example, the type of browser being used, the operating system used by the user and the domain name of the user's Internet server provider) is collected. This information is primarily used for internal purposes, but only in an aggregate form (individual users can not be identified). Personally identifiable information may be collected from users of the Sites when users voluntarily provide this information. All such information is retained by EMI and is solely used for the purpose detailed to the user when such personally identifiable information was provided by the user to EMI.

The following discloses EMI's information gathering and dissemination practices for the Sites. By visiting a Site you indicate your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with this Privacy Policy, please do not visit the Sites.

Changes to the Privacy Policy
EMI reserves the right to change the terms of this Privacy Policy. Any changes will be posted on this page. EMI encourages you to check this page regularly. Your continued use of the Sites following any changes to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such changes. You agree that the information that we gather will be subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time of use.

Information We Collect
EMI may collect personal information that you voluntarily give to EMI such as your name, postal address, telephone number, fax number, and email address. For example, EMI may collect personal information when you purchase merchandise, enter a contest, become a member, complete a survey or otherwise communicate with the Site. Personal information may also include information EMI gathers about you on the Site such as your purchase history. If you place an order with EMI or use another feature of the Site that requires payment, EMI may collect your account or credit card number. EMI may also collect demographic information that you provide to EMI, such as your postal code or age.

EMI may collect non-personal information from you by “passive” means. EMI may collect your website browsing patterns or IP address to analyze the trends, help diagnose problems with EMI's server, gather broad demographic information and administer the Site. EMI may also set and access cookies to collect information about how the Site is used, to customize the delivery of information, to control the display of advertisements, to record registration and personalized information, and to help EMI administer the Site. EMI's cookies do not share information with third parties. Refusing to accept cookies set by EMI may disable functionality or cause errors on some of the Sites. EMI captures your IP address when you use EMI's contact manager. Some of EMI's advertisers may occasionally set cookies as well. EMI does not have control over cookies placed by advertisers.

How We Use Your Information
EMI may use your personal information for customer service, to provide you with the information, product or service that you requested, and to customize your experience on the Site. For example, if you make a purchase on the Site, EMI may use your e-mail address to send you a purchase confirmation notice and your mailing address to send your purchase. Similarly, if you enter an online contest, EMI will use this information to notify you if you are a winner and award the prize. EMI may also use your personal information provided in the registration form to distribute its newsletter EMIssion-Online.com, other information about the EMI company, and promotional material from EMI's partners (where you have opted-in for same). Users may opt-out of receiving future distributions. See the "Opt-Out" section below.

Your IP address may be used to contact you if you request a response in a message you send to EMI. Your IP address will not be shared; however please refer to "Other Disclosures".

Sharing with Advertisers/Partners/Third Party Contractors
Demographic and profile data is collected at the Sites and used to tailor your experience at the Sites to your preferences. This general information and other non-personal information may be shared with advertisers or partners on an aggregated basis (for example, "over 6% of our visitors use …") so they can tailor their advertisements to the appropriate audience or to illustrate trends and patterns to third parties. Your specific personal information will NEVER be shared with advertisers or partners without your expressed permission (unless you have “opted-in” for this). EMI may use third party contractors to help us operate our business and the Sites or administer activities on our behalf and may share your personal information with these contractors for those limited purposes.

EMI may also share your personal information (where you have opted-in for same) with other companies or persons who may offer you services and products of interest. If you do not wish to have your information shared in this way, please e-mail EMI anytime at admin@emientertainment.com.my. Please note changes to your preferences may not be effective immediately and will only be effective prospectively.

If you place an order on the Site, EMI will use your financial information to bill you for products and services or otherwise process your transaction. By making a purchase on the Site, you consent to EMI providing your financial information to EMI's service providers to process your transactions. These third parties may include credit card companies and banking institutions used to process the transaction.

Sharing with Artists and Artist Management
Various registration forms may request you provide EMI with certain personal information (such as your name and email address, possibly your phone number for a time-sensitive contest), demographic information (such as age and gender) and your preferences (such as the kind of music you like). Information submitted at the time of registration may be used for various marketing and promotional purposes by EMI and may be shared with relevant artist(s) and/or artist management. With your permission, EMI and the artist (where applicable) or its management may send you information regarding the artist. If you do not want to receive information regarding the artist do not signup for the artist newsletter and do not signup for Official Artist Website Membership (where applicable). If you do not want your personal information shared with the artist and/or its management do not signup for the artist newsletter, nor for the Official Artist Website Membership (where applicable). You may always opt-out of receiving future mailings. To opt-out of any artist newsletter and/or EMIssion-Online, EMI Music Malaysia's newsletter, please see the "Opt-Out" section below.

Children
EMI will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

Sale of Assets, Merger, Acquisition, Bankruptcy
Information collected from you may be transferred to a third party as a result of a sale or acquisition, merger or bankruptcy involving EMI.

Other Disclosures
EMI may also disclose your information in response to court orders or subpoenas or if we determine it is necessary to so to comply with applicable laws or to protect the interests or safety of EMI, its artists, its affiliates or other visitors to the Site.

Links
The Site may contain links to other sites including, among others, those of advertisers, and other third parties whose trademarks may appear on the Site. EMI is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of the sites to which EMI provide links. You should carefully review the privacy policies of any linked sites you access via the Sites.

Community Functions
The Sites may make available to its users chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or other community functions. Remember, any information you disclose in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal, financial or other information. You should use such community functions at your own risk. Please refer to the "Forum Terms of Use" <LINK> respecting the terms and conditions applicable to your use of any forum, bulletin board, chat or similar function on the Sites.

Security
Protecting your information is important to EMI. The Sites have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under EMI's control. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while EMI is committed to protecting your information, EMI cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to EMI and you share your personal information at your own risk. EMI may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with EMI's server and to administer the Sites. Your IP address is used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information. Subject to disclosures set out in the "Other Disclosures" section, at no time is your IP Address shared. Your visits and shopping is appreciated. EMI recommends at all times using a 128-bit (or higher) version of a major browser and making sure the browser and your Operating System is up-to-date.

Opt-Out
You can unsubscribe by clicking on the following link and entering your email address in the space provided http://www.emientertainment.com.my/subscribe.asp. If you are unable to use this unsubscribe feature please email unsubscribe@emientertainment.com.my with the name of the newsletter or distribution item in the subject line from which you wish unsubscribe. Any unsubscribe action requires single-clicking on a confirmation link automatically sent to you in an email from EMI's server. Please note that changes to your preferences may not be effective immediately and will only be effective prospectively.

Changing Your Information
If you would like to review, update, change or delete information that EMI has collected from you, please send a letter to our Privacy Compliance Officer, referencing your name and email used when signing up for newsletters, forum membership, etc. (see our address below). Please note that changes may not be effective immediately.
